Popular 90's Song: Forever More
- Puff Johnson emerged on the music scene in 1996 with her first single "Forever More", produced by Narada Michael Walden and written by Walden, Puff Johnson and S.J. Dakota. It achieved its biggest success in New Zealand where it reached No. 5.
She released her first and critically acclaimed album, Miracle, in 1996. The album was produced by Randy Jackson of American Idol fame.
Although Puff Johnson hadn’t released another album since 1996, she still had many fans in South Africa. Thus, Puff Johnson moved to Johannesburg following her concert in January 2009. She attributed her decision to relocate to South Africa to the friendly and warm people that she had met throughout her journey in the country.
Before moving to South Africa, Puff Johnson was diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Unfortunately, she did not have the “proper documentation” (most probably a visa), and Home Affairs was legally forced to deport her in 2010, The Independent Online reported.
Johnson lost her battle with cancer on June 24, 2013 at the age of 40.
